Staff at Peter Cooper Motor Group are attempting to raise thousands of pounds for Sports Relief in an ardous sponsored charity initative.

Richard O’Connell and Matt Clewes are taking on a full day’s sporting challenge including footballl, cricket, golf, tennis and basketball. Starting early in the morning, the duo will be looking to complete its Sports Relief 500 challenge in 12 hours. Each activity will involve hitting, throwing or kicking 500 balls!

Radio and TV presenter Michael Kurn will be on hand to support the duo going in goal for the football challenge.

Sports mad Matt Clewes said: “We are looking to complete each challenge back to back at different venues around Southampton including Hedge End Golf Centre, Southampton FC training ground, The Ageas Bowl, Totton & Eling Tennis Centre and Solent University.

It’s going to be fun but also tough. We’ve done some training but nothing can really prepare you for this type of challenge.”

Darren Cooper, managing director of the Peter Cooper Motor Group, said: “It’s a very creative way to raise a lot of money. This will take a lot of effort and energy and we are right behind Richard and Matt.”
