At the Peter Cooper Motor Group, we are passionate about supporting positive mental health. Our goal is to take care of our colleagues, knowing that a supportive and healthy environment benefits both our team and our customers. Everything we do is rooted in our core Peter Values, which guide us in creating a compassionate workplace culture:
For Mental Health Week, we’ll be focusing our efforts on staff wellbeing across all nine locations. Our goal is to raise awareness, offer support, and create opportunities for meaningful connection.
We’ll be placing posters in private, confidential spaces, such as toilet doors, that feature a QR code linking directly to a range of resources and reputable mental health support services.
Each site will receive green mental health logo pin badges and stickers for staff to display on their clothing, phones, and laptop covers. These items will help create a visible show of support across the business. Staff will also be invited to contribute to a poster titled “I support my mental wellbeing by…”, where they can write down the activities that bring them happiness or peace. These posters will be shared on our social media and across the group to showcase all the different, positive things people do for their mental health. It’s a reminder that there’s so much out there; look at all these amazing and personal ways people support their wellbeing. Keep fighting. Bring courage.
Our HR team will be visiting every site throughout the week, offering confidential time for anyone who wants to talk. These visits are not just about this one week; they’re also a reminder that mental health support is available at any time.
On Thursday, 15th May, 2025, we’ll also be hosting Odd Sock Day and a Bake Sale. Odd Socks is to signify that it’s okay not to be perfect. We are all different and great in our own unique ways. You can be imperfect and still be incredible, just like a mismatched pair of socks. All funds raised during the week will go to Solent Mind, helping to support their ongoing work in mental health care and education.
For our customers, we’re proud to share our support through specially designed posters placed in customer-facing areas and social media. These will include QR codes linking directly to mental health resources and Mind’s website.
