WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS FOR ELECTRIC JEEP DRIVERS?

Driving an electric vehicle goes beyond reducing CO₂ emissions, you’ll also enjoy a range of performance perks and cost-saving advantages. Here are some of the top benefits to consider:

CONGESTION CHARGE

Driving in central London comes with a daily Congestion Charge, currently set at £15 and in effect from 07:00 to 22:00 every day. However, as of 22nd June 2024, fully electric Jeep models are eligible for the 100% Cleaner Vehicle Discount, meaning you won’t have to pay the charge at all.

ULTRA LOW EMISSION ZONES (ULEZ)

Since fully electric Jeep vehicles produce zero tailpipe emissions while driving, they’re exempt from the £12.50 daily charge for entering London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ). With the ULEZ now covering all London boroughs, drivers who enter the zone regularly could save significantly, up to £4,550 a year.*

*This estimated saving is based on the £12.50 daily charge multiplied by every day of the year, excluding Christmas Day.

COMPANY CAR TAX (BENEFIT-IN-KIND)

Fully electric Jeep models benefit from a low Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) rate; just 3% for the 2025/2026 tax year. This rate will rise gradually by 1% each year, reaching 7%. Compared to the 20% to 37% BiK rates typically applied to petrol and diesel vehicles. Electric Jeeps offer a much more tax-efficient option for company car users.

PERFORMANCE AND COMFORT

Our electric motors deliver 100% torque, ensuring smooth, instant acceleration with significantly lower noise compared to a petrol engine, resulting in a more relaxed driving experience. Additionally, our regenerative braking technology reduces energy waste and helps extend the lifespan of mechanical components.

WHAT IS TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP?

Buying a Jeep is more than just an investment in adventure, it's a long-term decision that goes beyond the initial purchase price. That’s why it’s important to consider the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). This includes the price of your vehicle, running costs like fuel or charging, maintenance, servicing, and vehicle tax.

Upfront costs can be deceptive when comparing powertrains. Although electric vehicles may have a higher initial price, their lower operating costs often make them more economical in the long run. Charging is usually more affordable than refuelling, and EVs typically require less maintenance. With an electrified Jeep, you get the best of both worlds: legendary capability and long-term savings.

Key factors that contribute to TCO include:

Cost CategoryJeep Avenger PetrolJeep Avenger Full Electric
Energy/Fuel Costs£12.63 per 100 miles £6.74 per 100 miles
Vehicle Tax£440 for the first year (if registered after 1st April 2025) £10 for the first year (if registered between 01/04/25 and 01/04/26)
Servicing & MaintenanceHigher maintenance due to more mechanical parts Lower maintenance due to fewer mechanical parts
Finance PaymentsTypically lower monthly payments Typically higher monthly payments, but savings on tax, servicing, and charging costs

Whether you choose a petrol model or embrace the electrified future of Jeep, understanding Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) helps you make the best decision for your needs, not just for today but for many years of adventure to come.
