In April 2016, we launched Peter Cooper Racing, providing our customers with opportunities to enhance and modify their vehicles. From performance upgrades to exterior modifications, including ECU software and engine tuning, transforming both the look and performance of any vehicle. Our extensive expertise spans all makes and models, from Peugeot to Porsche, ensuring your vehicle reaches its highest potential.
In 2022, we rebranded Peter Cooper Racing to Peter Cooper Modifications, expanding our services beyond just the racing element to cater to all aspects of vehicle enhancement and modification.
Peter Cooper Modifications (PCM) offers a wide range of services, including vehicle enhancements, wrapping, ceramic coating for wraps, paint, windows, alloys, calipers, and exhaust systems. We provide comprehensive performance upgrades, allowing for limitless customisation, and brake caliper colour coding with high-quality parts to improve performance.
Founded in 1981 by Peter Cooper, the Peter Cooper Motor Group (PCMG) has grown steadily, celebrating 40 years of success in 2021. It all began with a single showroom in Hedge End, Southampton, where Peter’s focus on exceptional customer care and nurturing local talent quickly made an impact—so much so that the nearby roundabout earned the nickname “Coopers Roundabout.”
From those humble beginnings, PCMG evolved into a family-run legacy. In 2006, Peter’s son, Darren, took the reins as Managing Director at just 31, leading a group that then included three Volkswagen franchises, a Body Repair Centre, and 100 employees.
Today, PCMG boasts nearly 270 staff and serves over 50,000 loyal customers across 19 businesses and nine locations in Hampshire and West Sussex. Our diverse portfolio includes Volkswagen and OMODA & JAECOO showrooms, Prestige Used Cars, Bosch Service Centres, Peter Cooper Modifications, Kia, Peter Cooper Leasing and Rent-A-Car, a VAG-approved Paint and Body Centre, MyTrustedElectrical, and the Vehicle Trade Centre.
•Established in 1981 at Hedge End. Now the leading independently owned Volkswagen retailer on the south coast with sites in Southampton, Hedge End, Portsmouth and Chichester as well as an award winning Paint and Body Repair Centre.
•2016 - The Hedge End Service Centre by Peter Cooper also at Coopers roundabout, offers customers who drive any make or model a better way of servicing their car at competitive rates by highly skilled technicians. Our service is designed to compete with the independent servicing market, offering excellent service from a trusted family.

•2016 – Prestige Cars by Peter Cooper: Prestige Cars by Peter Cooper launched at our original site at Coopers roundabout, offering an extensive selection of high-quality used vehicles to accommodate every budget, including brands such as Aston Martin, Porsche, Jaguar, Mercedes, Range Rover, BMW, and Audi. Additionally, we feature exceptional part-exchange models sourced from within our group, all meticulously vetted to meet our rigorous safety and quality standards. We operate two prestigious locations: one in Hedge End and another in Horsham. In 2024, our Prestige Cars All Makes Service Centre in Hedge End, located at Coopers Roundabout, swapped sites with our Viking Garages Kia location in West End, Southampton. This strategic relocation involved a year of meticulous planning and redevelopment, resulting in an expanded showroom and a modernised facility designed to enhance the customer experience.
•2020 – MyTrustedElectrical: In 2020, MyTrustedElectrical was established as part of the Peter Cooper Motor Group, building on the success of MyEVCP—a trusted provider of electric vehicle charging point installations for homes and businesses, regardless of brand or vehicle. Today, MyEVCP is a cornerstone of MyTrustedElectrical, working alongside myCompliance, myLighting, and myInstallation and Maintenance to offer a wide range of services. As a family-owned business with a long-standing commitment to customer focus, MyTrustedElectrical brings these values into every aspect of its electrical services. With our NICEIC Approved Contractor status and deep industry expertise, we provide comprehensive, reliable solutions tailored to meet all of our customers’ electrical needs.
•2023 – Peter Cooper Kia: In July 2023, the Peter Cooper Motor Group acquired Viking Kia West End, uniting two family-run businesses with a shared commitment to service and integrity. Viking Garages, a trusted name since 1972, has long upheld the same values that define the Peter Cooper Motor Group. Now operating as Peter Cooper Kia, we’ve relocated to a new, state-of-the-art site in Hedge End. This move reflects our dedication to providing the highest quality facilities and an enhanced customer experience.
•2023 - Vehicle Trade Centre: We are pleased to introduce the Vehicle Trade Centre in 2023, located in Hedge End, Southampton. This centre specialises in offering vehicles acquired through part exchanges from customers who have purchased from one of our eight locations. Catering to all manufacturers and models, our selection is carefully curated to meet the needs of the general public. At the Vehicle Trade Centre, we offer budget-friendly vehicles priced between £2,495 and £9,995 for purchase, provide quick and efficient vehicle buying services including settling outstanding finance, and facilitate part exchanges with cash back if your vehicle is valued higher than the one you’re purchasing, also handling any outstanding finance.
•2024 – Peter Cooper OMODA: The Peter Cooper Motor Group is proud to partner with OMODA and JAECOO as they enter the UK car market in early 2024. As two of the world’s newest automotive brands, OMODA and JAECOO are committed to offering customers innovative, future-ready vehicles that reflect their values and lifestyles. We now proudly operate OMODA and JAECOO sites in Southampton and Chichester, dedicated to delivering exceptional service and cutting-edge automotive solutions.
